Dear Parents and Guardians

Mitsuru Morita, Superintendent of Education, Tsukuba City

Measures to prevent the spread of new coronavirus

In order to prevent the spread of the New Coronavirus and to ensure the safety of the kindergarten children, we would like to ask for your understanding and cooperation as follows

The temporary school closure period has been extended to Wednesday, May 6th.

-There is a possibility that the school (kindergarten) may be closed for an extended period of time depending on the circumstances.

-We will keep in touch with you during this period via emergency mail, the school website and the Tsukuba City website.

-The purpose of the school closures (kindergarten) is to prevent the spread of infection, so we ask that you take care of yourself at home. Avoid going out of the house unnecessarily. In particular, we ask that you avoid staying in crowded or enclosed spaces. It is not necessary to refrain from exercising outdoors in small groups or going to the park as a family, taking infection control measures.

-We ask that you monitor your child's health every day, such as checking his or her temperature during special school closures. If your child or family member is infected, please be sure to contact the school or kindergarten.

-Make sure they follow basic infectious disease measures such as hand washing and cough etiquette.

We apologize for the concern of those parents who have difficulty in taking care of their children during the day. We will continue to accept children even after April 20, subject to certain conditions. We will contact you again via emergency email this week to explain our response policy. We ask that you refrain at this time from contacting the Children's Club about any correspondence after April 20 until we can inform you of the City's policy.
