There are two large airports located near Tsukuba: Narita Airport is Japan's largest international airport; Haneda Airport is mainly a domestic airport, but it also handles some international flights.

There are luggage delivery services (called takkyubin) available at both airports. You can use this service to send your luggage to the airport or have it delivered from the airport when travelling to or from the airport by public transportation.
