The 39th Mt. Tsukuba Plum Blossom Festival (updated Feb. 2, 2012)

Come and see over 1000 beautiful plum trees covering 4.5ha on the mountain. The Mt. Tsukuba Plum Blossom Festival will be held February 18 to March 30 this year.
Opening Ceremony : Saturday, Feb. 18, 11:30 at Tsukuba-san Bairin *Tsukuba-san Jinja in case of rain

Main Events:

• Ume Tea Service (everyday)
• Open Air Tea Ceremony (every Sunday)
• Tsukuba's famous Gama no Abura Uri Kojyo demonstration (everyday)
• Stage Event (every weekend)
  Sunday, March 11th marks one year since the Great East Japan Earthquake. A charity event featuring shamisen and taiko drum performances will help smiles "blossom" in Tsukuba and other affected areas.

Transportation Guide

1. By Bus: Take Tsukuba-san Shuttle Bus at Tsukuba Center for 40 minutes. Get off at "Tsukuba-san Jinja entrance" and walk 5 minutes to Tsukuba-san Bairin. Fare: Adults 700 yen, Children 350 yen.
2. By Car: Parking Fee: Car 500 yen, 2-wheeler 250 yen, large vehicle 2,000 yen per entrance
3. Ume Matsuri Free Tour Bus: Sat, Sun & Holidays, 10:00 - 15:30. Bus route: Loops from Bairin → Jinja → Tsutsujigaoka
