2012 Coming of Age Ceremony (updated: Jan. 16, 2012)
Tsukuba holds the Coming of Age Day (seijin shiki) celebrations in January every year for people who turned (or will turn) 20 during the current school year. This year, the ceremony took place on January 8th at Tsukuba Capio. 1,463 participants, dressed up in colorful kimonos and formal suits, were all excited to reunite with old friends.
